My husband and I bought his childhood home in the Oquirrh Shadows neighborhood 12 years ago because we loved the area and the people and wanted to raise our boys in the same community. I am grateful to live in a place where our neighbors are our social circle, and we can count on each other for anything.
My husband is a proud Union pipefitter, and I am grateful to serve the traveling public in my full-time job every day for the last fifteen years. Every day my husband and I balance work schedules, school and daycare drop-off & pick-up, homework, doctor and dentist appointments, our family budget, and make sure to squeeze in camping as often as possible. When I’m not at work, the Capitol, or a community event, you will likely find me in my garden, tending to my tomatoes, chickens, or bees.
I am grateful and fortunate to have the support system that I have that allows me to serve families like ours in the Legislature, because a representative government works best when those who are elected to represent their communities are reflective of the communities that they serve.
I have had the opportunity to serve my fellow Utahns in several capacities, and am fortunate to use my experience to make sure that all of Utah’s working-class families have a seat at the table.
